Under Indo-German bilateral cooperation, the Government of India and Government of Germany have agreed upon a strategic partnership - Green Urban Mobility Partnership (GUMP) between Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Within the framework of the partnership of technical and financial cooperation, the German government will support improvements of green urban mobility infrastructure and services, strengthen capacities of national, state, and local institutions to design and implement sustainable, inclusive, and smart mobility solutions in Indian cities.

Complementing the bilateral efforts in the area of Green Urban Mobility, the Green Urban Mobility Innovation Project is a flagship cooperation project between GIZ and Bosch to improve the framework conditions in select Indian cities for Green Urban Mobility. The proposed project aims to set up an industry-led, pre-competitive multi-stakeholder innovation platform for green urban mobility innovation and establish a so called ‘Living Lab’, a real-life testing environment for green urban mobility innovations. Special focus will be given to mobility innovations that have a high social and environmental impact and provide accessible, affordable, safe, frequent, and convenient mobility solutions for all.

Under this assignment, its expected that the consultant would provide the framework for the establishment of Living Lab. The consultant is expected to conduct a detailed international review on the various living labs established internationally in sustainable mobility. Key recommendations should be provided on the various aspects related to LL namely operational model, business model, stakeholder’s engagement strategy, financial model etc. The recommendations would form the key basis for operationalising the living lab.
